This first image reflects my mood to the T today. For those of you who may not know….. our city was hit with an F5 tornado not even 4 days ago. The world seems so strange…. like this is all a dream or an out of body experience. However, it wasn’t a dream at all! It is all very real. The intense loss of life, the loss of entire neighborhoods and the loss of homes and possessions that took a lifetime to collect. What isn’t lost is our sense of partnership and community that just seems to be growing. For images of joplin click here.
Everyone in Joplin and it’s surrounding communities has been affected by this tragedy. I personally have spent the last several days helping a friend dig through what used to be her recently remodeled home. A fellow local photographer lost his home as well as countless others. I have no words. only tears, then dry eyes where the tears once were. I have found an outlet for my ever running thoughts. two songs that have spoken powerfully to me.
